You're probably wondering what the hell that means, and I'll gladly tell you. Lucerials are a fancy name for my free serials that I post twice a month to my Lucerial page.
What are serials?
Not to be confused with cereals, yum, serials are, "A publication in any medium issued under the same title in a succession of discrete parts, usually numbered (or dated) and appearing at regular or irregular intervals with no predetermined conclusion." (source)
In short, a serial is a story uploaded in parts. In our case, by chapter.
Is that all?
There's a little more to Lucerials than that. On top of providing my wonderful readers with a free entertaining story, at the end of every chapter I link to a poll and ask them to take an active role in shaping the story. You aren't just readers, you'll help me determine the direction in which the story goes. Some poll questions are as innocuous as naming a pet, others might include titles and even dialogue choices.
Where did you get the name?
I was looking up potential blog names and something like "writercerial" popped up in some random generator. I just swapped out the first two letters of my name for the word writer, and my series name was born.
Where did you get the idea?
I wanted more ways to engage my readers and offer content for their support. Originally I had planned to post them in a newsletter, but I want to be able to share them with as many people as I can.
How can I participate?
First you should probably start at the beginning of the current story. Here is the link to the first chapter to get you started. (link coming with first chapter) Once you're caught up, go to the poll page and answer the questions. Then tune in for the next installment to see how your choices were implemented by my crazy brain! Rinse and repeat!
Why are polls only open for five days?
(With the exception of the first which you can find here.)
I need time to write the chapters, but before I can do that, I need time to scour the data. The more time I have to write, the better the quality. But at the same time I understand we all have busy lives, so I also wanted to give people enough time to read the current installment.
If you have anymore questions feel free to contact me.
*Note: this is different from my newsletter. It only provides reminders for the newest Lucerial chapters. If you want to stay on top of all my other writing shenanigans, subscribe to my monthly newsletter here or down below.
